Hi there, friend! I’m Taylor, and I love fantastical, colorful stories. If you have a tale to tell with talking animals, faraway lands, and characters who may suffer from anxious inner monologue and/or decision fatigue, you’ve come to the right place!
I’m an editor with a fondness for books, narrative-focused video games, graphic novels, film, and storytelling in general. I enjoy fantasy narratives the most, with romance and low-stakes slice-of-life being my favorite subgenres, but I’ve also been known to enjoy a character-driven, gotta-save-the-world action sequence or two.
...THE UNABRIDGED VERSION:
I’m a 31-year-old New Jersey native, now living in the Hudson Valley. I’ve written stories since childhood, including fanfiction and crossovers of my favorite TV shows and movies (that are floating around on the internet somewhere, been meaning to fix that!). Looking back, writing helped me manage my social anxiety, allowing me to process thoughts and feelings I didn’t feel comfortable speaking aloud.
In middle school, I worked up to courage to finally share my writing with a few friends. I fretted so much about whether or not they’d like it, I considered sending follow-up emails telling them to delete the document I’d sent.
But they loved it, and I loved getting their feedback on something I’d worked super hard on. I loved it so much, I messed around and graduated with a Bachelor’s in Creative Writing from Florida State University.
I continued to write for myself and the odd contest after graduation while teaching swim lessons, cashiering for a regional cupcake franchise, and delivering devilables (yes, this is an unintended but satisfactory typo) for local business social media campaigns. And then came the pandemic.
I took it as a chance to switch gears, get out of cubicles, and back into community-focused work. And while that did happen, my writing took a back seat…
